Red Planet lily

Pasco, WA(Zone 6b)

This is a picture of 'Red Planet' that I got from a co-op in April. I can't believe how BIG the flower is on this lily! Especially since it was just planted towards the end of April. How are everybody elses lilies from that co-op doing?

But I have a question. Does the flower on this one look like maybe it has a virus? Can you see the splotchy area on the leaves? I really know nothing about the lily virus but what I've read here. And from that info, it looks a little suspicious to me???? So far it's only on this one. The other red planets seem fine. I have several other lilies from the same shipment that haven't bloomed yet.

Sherry, which co-op were you in? Have you been having a lot of rain?? This has been a really weird year, so I wouldn't get real jumpy about lily virus yet... :)

It's a nice lily, tho. :)

Hi Ticker,
It was a Blooming Bulb co-op done by shihtzumom in March/April. And no, we haven't has a lot of rain. But they do get watered regularly. In person it's a gorgeous big red lily.

Sherry, I'm going to pass on whether it's virused or not. Someone in here who knows a whole lot more than I do will have to comment on that. I could probably spot the obvious, but you probably could too, so I wouldn't be much help on that.

Now that you've gotten your co-op bulbs, you really should check out BuggyCrazy's site, if you haven't already.. I'm already chomping at the bit waiting for her to open shop August.. :)

Keep those pictures coming!
