Ooooh, very nice!!! :) Love that lily Eric!
Diann
Very pretty lilies Andy. Do you use cages around all your lilies?
Nancy
Nancy most of them. Rabbits around here love lilies, young or old. The 2x3 green fencing works if it is high enough, 8" to 10," and the lilies are far enough away from the fence that the rabbits can't get to them with there head. Generally I only have to worry about baby rabbits getting through the fence when my seedlings are up. For the most part it blends in ok.
I am trying out some rabbit repellent, Plantskydd, this year on a few test lilies with mixed results.
Eric looks much better in person. A rich, glowing red. Not a muddy look as the photo shows.

I didn't think it looked muddy, I thought it looked pretty darn good, but if you say it looks better in person, I'll believe you. :)
I guess I was thinking out loud :*) The camera just didn't quite get the full character. Regarding Cathedral , I wasn't sure what I would think of the multi colored lilies in person. Well today I found my self looking at it and feeling content, some things in nature bring a peace to the heart...

Ya know, I haven't met a lily (or a peony, or a hosta, or a daylily) I didn't like. They are all beautiful. I'm currently enchanted by speckles, but won't turn down any lily that wants to come live here. :)
Diann
Me neither Diann. I just potted up 52 lily scales that I had scaled this spring last evening.
Only had 2 that didn't produce bulbs.
How are yours coming, Andy?
Next is to separate the seedlings in my pails that I WS this past winter as they are to the age where they should be planted in individual pots.
Maxine
I love lilies each is it's own beautiful flower. I'm with Diann and Maxine, I'm just getting into hosta's but I have several daylilies, don't have a lot of peony's but I love them.
Nancy
You know, I suppose I really should learn to scale bulbs, but I'm such a weenie when it comes to stuff like that. About the best I do is to wintersow seeds and then it's a crap-shoot to see if that gets done in a timely way... Maybe this year...
Nancy, wander on over to the Peony forum and check out some old posts. We'll get you addicted to them in no time. :) Right Maxine? :)
Diann
I would like a lot more if my 53x136 lot was bigger :*)
Maxine my seedlings are doing great, aside from being nibbled on. I didn't have much luck with scales though.

Ah, nice to see you got the right bulb of Eric!
Yes I did. 3 stems from one bulb :*) How are your lilies doing Mainiac?
Lily season is a bit slow getting going here. Elegant Lady bloomed yesterday but I am working 10 hour days so not much time to take photos right now. The best part is that I get Friday off! Lots of time to take pictures on Friday and then there will be more things blooming. The heat and humidity are due in today so I am expecting the bloom to speed up a bit. But it is quite dry here.
Dry here also. Hasn't rained more than a sprinkle in 2+ weeks.
