South China, ME(Zone 5a)

My B-Day is Monday but big brother has to work tomorrow and Monday so he gave me my gift today. It is a hand painted one of a kind bird bath with Oriental Lilies on it. I just had to share with all you lily lovers!
This is the bottom.....

Edited to say: They only made 2 like this.....so it's a 2-of-a-kind??

Hey blue is my favorite color too. Too bad lilies don't come in blue lol!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Wounldn't that be wonderful?? Especially if your the first one to do it!!

Western, WI(Zone 4a)

Thats my favorite color also!! Must be something going around in the air?

I can't have blue lilies but I can have blue companions for the lilies. As you can see, these grow throughout the lily forest! I think a blue bird bath in the middle of all this would be a nice touch.

That is so pretty!

I would love to see a bluebird, or even a blue jay in it.

What a great big brother you have.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

He's wonderful!! I have 6 big brothers......this one is actually the smallest big brother I have. LOL

Western, WI(Zone 4a)

Oh you are so lucky to have so many siblings.

Pard, what is that blue flower growing amongst your lilies?
Love that color!

Have a great Sunday, going to turn hot and humid here today. Great way to start the week, isn't it?

It's 54 here right now, should get up to 75-78 today. Can't wait until it feels like summer....it's been really cool here the last few days. Two nights ago we dipped down in the 40's.

Maxine, the blue flowers are Triteleia laxa (formerly Brodiaea) Queen Fabiola. I tried to get rid of them at one time by digging out all of the bulbs. But they came back again probably from small offsets and seeds. Now I try to keep them under control by deadheading and that helps. I like them better now that I am getting more interested in growing our native plants.

I just plant Queen F. this spring but have nothing yet. Maybe I should check again!

Beautiful, Pixie! Can I have the 'second one of that kind'? Lol! I love blue too.
Nice piece of art there. The birds will have a great time in there.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Yeah but I don't want to find bird poop in it!

I finally have a lily blooming, actually 2.

Ticker is the lily beetle in IA yet? If yes, do you use what Mainiac uses? I've been using it and am very impressed....I may have foliage to go with my lilies this year!!

Lisbon, IA(Zone 5a)

No, the red lily beetle is not in Iowa as of yet (as far as I know) and I hope someone gets a handle on it before it makes it way here. It's bad enough that I have to deal with Northern Corn Root-worm, Japanese, squash, and cucumber beetles, I don't want the lily beetle too... And I'm not real big on chemicals, but I will use them if really necessary.

I think right now it's confined to the New England states and parts of Canada...

I'm always one of the "lucky" ones!
