I'm sure this is not a good bug. It has a proboscis that's about 1/8 long--ideal for sucking the life out of a plant.
CLOSED: What is this orange sucker
Hard to tell at the angle it is, with the head covered with its legs, but I suspect an assassin bug (good guy) because at the size it is, a leaf-footed bug (bad guy) would already have the enlargements in the back legs, which this one does not have. Would love to actually see the head, but...
A good guy uses that proboscis to suck the life out of another insect.
Here's a photo of the good guy. I think that's what you have (oops, had). http://bugguide.net/node/view/117021
Here's the bad guy: http://bugguide.net/node/view/22218
How many black dots are on its abdomen? Is the head long and narrow, or shorter and more rounded? Does the proboscis extend under its body a ways, or is it shorter than that?
