Is this a disease?

Hi--I'm sorry to post again, but with this being my first year with lilies I just really don't know what is okay and what is not. I've noticed that a number of my Oriental Aruba lilies have developed some browning along their lower leaves. I'm concerned because I haven't seen it happen on my Casa Blancas--yet. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you!

Looks like it might be a mild case of Botrytis, which is a soil borne fungus that can splash up on to the foliage from rain or overhead watering. It can proliferate during damp conditions and / or poor air circulation. Keep a close eye on it and if any other leaves start to brown then it needs to be treated ASAP with a fungicide such as copper solution.

Thanks Moby--off to go get the copper solution just in case!

Niere, don't ever be sorry to post. The folks in here have taught me so much about lilies and I'm so appreciative to them for that. A lot of the more technical stuff of Pard, Lefty, Wallaby, Magnolia, Moby all talk about goes whizzing right over my head, but I pick up bits and pieces of things. Of course, they all have changed my soda-pop taste for lilies into a champagne taste... :) LOL Do post more often, ok? :)
