Where are the Japanese Beetles?

I'd be tempted to say that the JBs haven't been so bad here this year, but I know they'll read this and decide to attack;-)

Hi All,
I am new to this forum and wanted to say hello, so HEllo All! We have had those stupid bugs now to long! Don't they ever go away! I think this year the JB have been terrible. I had to net in my new Daliha bed... They would not let any blooms bloom....
I also grew EE for the first time this year... They are so great. I just took a picture of one with my bird Peaches on it... My banana plants did not due well and I dont know why? Also my first year for them... I will grow the EE next year not sure of the Banana's will see.

Great, now I should probably divide mine now that I see that. Trying to do some outside stuff, took a quick break from the heat.

I spray sometimes with soapy water to keep the bugs off...works for a few days anyway.

Susan: what a pretty bird!

I shouldn't say this (tempting fate) but I haven't seen a JB in the past 2 weeks. They just may be gone from here.
FIngers crossed.

Why thank you.. she looks a little bad at this time as her new feathers are coming in.. they are called pin feathers... So when we were done outside we came in and I gave her a bath... she loves the bath but hates when Mom starts pinching her pin feathers... They are incased in a cover and I help her break them.. not her best thing in life... She is a part of our crazy family.

Susan, I've never heard of a Buggie being let outside. How often do you let her out? Do you keep her in a cage inside?

Peaches is a peach front conur... she is the smallest of the parrot line.... Her wings are clipped and she rides my shoulder as I am out side if not to hot...She has her own place in the inclosed screen house outside where we sit if not to hot... Here is a picture of her on my EE.
Also where are all the JB? They are all still at my house eating all my flowers... I can't stand those things.... I also dumped 5 pots out yesterday that help my tomato's for this year and I found in those pots at least 30-40 grubs and I am not lieing... Never seen so many in my life at one time...

Susan, as a child I had one of those birds. We really did not know what kind it was and didn't have many resources in those days. He showed up in a tree outside our back door one day and took a liking to me. He hated my SIL who lived with us while my older brother was overseas in the service. I named him Kookie because he was always grooming his head just like the "Kookie, Kookie lend me your comb" character on TV back then. That bird lived with us for about 6 years and one day when the door was open he just flew off and he disappeared as quickly as he came into our lives.
