June 18th Blooms

Lisbon, IA(Zone 5a)

Ok, I guess I'll get the ball rolling today with this one. It's Party Diamond and I believe I got it from our very own Mainiac (either from the lilly auction or Far Far Away Flowers)... ;) It's a keeper. ;)

I had a very difficult time deciding of this was Soiree or not. I think I'm leaning towards that it is. Some of the orangy red ones are looking very red this year.

I don't know the names of these. I call them my House Lilies because they were here when I moved in. They use to sit on the south side of the house, were about 18 inches tall and very orange. I moved them in 05 to the north side of the garage sand they now go about 4 feet and are very red this year.

They are looking great this year.

and really close.

I have more for today, but still need to resize them.

'Early Rose' opened up this morning, looking quite perfect. It is a beauty.

This was in a bonus I received from B & D Lilies, their asiatic bonus of 3. The first one to bloom.

'Rosepoint Lace'

This might be 'White Lace', it's from the Lily Garden, that I know. Any ideas? I remember not being able to figure it out last year.

Brindisi

This is Brindisi with an unknown. It should have been a pink tiger, but last year I decided it was King Pete. Now I think it is just a yellow tiger hybrid, name unknown.

I guess I'm done for today. All the rest look way too dark.

I would appreciate someone taking a close look at the one I think is Soiree. Another possibility is Red Ticklers. I planted RT in 04 and it's been missing in action since.

Love that rosy pink bonus, Mag. Hope I got one of those!

beak, 'Ceres' is lovely! Is that available somewhere now?

Beaker, flower color compared to my Soiree is right on. But you should also see a different foliage color too. It always greens up by the time it actually flowers, but depending on the year there should be varing degrees of a a shiny-gray-mauve color to the foliage.

See here on my species-cultivar named pic. The next pic will be better quality.

A subsequent year. The greenish babies are definitely Soiree too.

Forgot to say that your Soiree foliage (color, shape and aspect) looks right on for the stage of growth too. See how it still has the faintest notion of that gray-mauve color?

Magnolia, I picked up Ceres a few years ago from one of those Dutch places. I belive there were three small, mouldy and rotting bulbs. One made it. Not sure if it is still available. Mine are still a few years from needing to be divided.

Hi Rick, the coloring on Soiree looked much better tonight when I got home. I don't remember it being this tall though and it sure did look red this morning.

Some of these you just don't know when or if you'll find them again. So much beauty on one page.
