Hello forum, anyone ever try basswood (tilia american) seeds, it says to scarfify (sp?) the outer
coat , cold stratify , then plant. It is not a common seedling offered by nurseries, so we tried
seeds, also most larger seeds we have planted were eaten by squirrels, we put a pot inside
an unused birdcage, do pine seeds need sandy soil to germinate ? jack pine seeds
out of the cone don't need special treatment, do they ? jim

Jim, You might want to try in Trees and shrubs. Evidently no one here has had experience with tree seeds.
