LOL - I think you're right, Sticks - and, of course, I have it, too! Too funny.

But I still love that rose & yellow coleus...mmmm...

Thanks for all the nice compliments. I have two of those gates. One is waiting for us to find the perfect rose for it. The one in the pic I just change each year. That is Persian shield. . . It is a little too sunny in that spot it seems to like some sun but not the hot sun we have been having. I would say it does better in shade. It is not as easy too root as coleus. I keep trying but not with much success. The top right pic is the station for feeding the birds. It just evolved into a nice little surprise. The birds loved eating on the steps and we decided to leave it and embellish it. Sun flower seeds were dropped by the birds and came up and made beautiful surprise flowers for us. Sticks I love all your stuff and I call your garden mine because I love the pickets and cannot do that now. I enjoy looking at yours. shirleyt

Shirley, in your collage picture, what is the bright/ light green lacy plant in the upper left square? Right under the date stamp... that one? I have really developed a liking for those bright/light green plants! And variagated anything!

Considering this is the first year for my little flower beds I can't complain at all. They are coming along nicely.the previous owner left 3 bushes. I had a 10 tall snow ball bush that I whacked back to 2 feet tall and it's still trying to overpower the flower bed. I had hoped the hard pruning I gave it early spring would slow that baby down but it didn't.

psychw2 That is orange cosmos. I put it in early and then pull it out when other plants reach a nice size. It will take over a bed if not controlled, but I love it because I have lots of space and it is soooo easy. I can send you seeds if you like. sticks can we please see a picture of your arbor sidewalk side . I want to see what you did with that area shirleyt

Sending some seeds would be great, thanks! Do these seeds need a padded envelope? Can I send you some postage or something? Let me know.

shirley...i will send a pic but it looks pretty much like last year....i have jasmine started on one side of the arbor and it has only grown up 3/4 of the way....then i have sweet autumn clematis on the other side and it hasn't started doing anything....i think next year i will be starting other color clematis to add to the mix cause i want stuff climbing on the thing!!!! it is hard finding fast colorful growers who like shade most of the day until hot afternoon sun for 3 or 4 hours....

WOW Sticks, that is a challenge! But I'll bet once your SAC finds that it can get sunlight by climbing taller it will really perform for you.

Yeah, I'm totally jealous of your yard!!!!! (Taking notes here). Any favorite gardening book that was your guide? (Besides the help at Dave's, of course!)

Crosbyton, TX(Zone 7a)

tir ...don't even get my hubby started...he has to have his dang lawn and i have to have my flowers so he gives me a little of his space.....i swear he is out there combing the little leafs of grass and loving it....he is a funny one:)

Houston, United States(Zone 9b)

Hehe, I can be a fanatic to (hey, I love a green lawn).....I LOVE that you have colorful flowers alllll along the fence. I find most people just plant in green plants, lots of shrubs, and call it good landscaping when the space is crying out, "give me flowers!!!!!!!!" :) WELL DONE!!!

Crosbyton, TX(Zone 7a)

you are much too gracious....; i am still getting my feet as far as gardening is concerned...and my yard is such a challenge....i have
shade the entire day in my yard until about 2 or 3; then it is the HOT afternoon sun till sunset....go figure; what do you grow?? so i experiment every year and add something new.....plus i love cottage ....so i have the wishes of having roses, foxglove, sun loving plants....and have to settle for impatiens...wimpy shade roses, lots of color foliages ....not alotta choices that look cottagey in west (waste ) texas.....

Houston, United States(Zone 9b)

AMAZING what a "little time" will do for a garden huh? It is beautiful and I'm sure you are enjoying it tremendously.
