It is not only a wonderful project but it shows how well you and your husband work together, it is absolutely breathtaking, and what a lot of work you will have taking care of it, I look forward to seeing a picture of all those brugs in bloom.
My Victorian Garden Update 2007...
Diane,
It is a fantasy land of your own, and very nice of you to share with us. Your house is beautiful and interesting as well. Thanks.

Now, when are you starting the stone greenhouse? I can imagine that is in the master plan somewhere?
I'm with Kell David Austin Roses would look fantastic.
Love your yard.
I can only dream
Lavina
It looks great, Diane. You and DH have really put in a lot of hard work and it shows.
Lavina, YES David Austin..... the old English rose look or Romantica Roses which I understand have stonger stems. And a few ramblers to spill their blooms over one or 2 of those stone walls. It would be just stunning.
I have been eagerly awaiting your late spring update, and it is even more than I imagined!
The new fountain adds so much height, size and structure to the whole effect - it always belonged there.
When you have time, tell us about your antiquing at Brimfields.
Kell and Lavina - OH YES...there is a whole bed, yet to be touched (directly in front of the pottingshed area) that will be my "rose garden" room and yes, of the 6 or 7 rose bushes that will be planted there, at least 5 spots I am reserving for David Austin Roses (I just LOVE them) ...don't have any yet...I'll aquire them probably next Spring when I get close to ready to plant that area. :-)
Still watching and am speechless, AGAIN!
Diane, so wonderful to see updates on your incredible stone garden and structures. That is some potting shed and so necessary for you to have to work from with all your pots and seedlings. I could move into your garden at a moment's notice, Lol.
Tussee
Diane, are you still working on this? How is it going?
any new pictures?
Interesting I was just thinking of this thread. Hopefully we get an update soon. I love this work in progress. Its so much fun to watch this beautiful garden evolve.

Maybe I've come to the right place. I have a brug that is about 1 1/2". It was doing really good now it's starting to die. Everyday a bottom leaf shrivels up and falls off. This is the second plant that has done this. My other on is about 10" and doing good. They both in my master bathroom and gets lots of sunlight thru frosted windows and there are gnats everywhere. I've sprayed but it doesn't kill the gnats.
Help please, I received these brugs in a trade.
Hi Purpbutfly
You have come to the right place. The people here have an amazing amount of knowledge and they are very helpful. I would just start a new thread so everyone will see it.
I lived in Marysville when I was in grade school maybe around 1960 or so. Nice community. I live in Concord (east SF bay) now.
Linda
purpbutfly~ mine are outside in almost direct sun and thrive. Maybe they need to be in more sun. Sounds like they are too wet, although they do love their water.
Hi Linda,
I'm originally from Auburn, Ca, moved here two years ago next month. Actually I'm in Linda right off of North Beal, just 4 miles from the base.
cupcake, (that's cute)
I have a full grown brug outside, these are clippings I received in a trade. I thought brugs like humidity.
Diane! Your place is absolutely unbelievable! I LOVE the rock work.
WOW!!!!
Thanks for the update! Your property is spectacularly gorgeous. Please don't keep us waiting too long for the next update!
OH THE JOY OF DAVES!!!!!!
You have built a garden many of us dream about!!
Thank you for the sharing!! I love it!!
Your pictures have captured your love of gardening and all the hard work you 2 have done to make this dream come true.

Julie
I hope Diann comes back soon as well, as I am anxiously awaiting an update on their stupendous project of creativity.
Purpbutfly, you need to drench the soil to kill the young gnats hatching at the roots of your plants. The adults flying around can easily be killed with most insect sprays.
Tussee
Thank you for sharing your beautiful garden. Can not wait to see more. WOW!
it's really developing over all these years... the early vision has aquired plenty of supporting beauty.. quite lovely..
well.. if ya'llget into a place that you need a hand..PLMK.. I'd love to assist..
there was a great link I 've lost...I so wanted to find so you could show it to John.. about this guy who was moving this house by himself.. he'd made what essentially was jeweled movments.. keep up the good work there . Gordon
Diane...
OK.. I found the link ...well one similar to the one I was looking for.. if John hasn't seen it I'msure he'll geta kick from it... but working with the big stones... I'm sure he's useing many of the techniques already.. .. .. I encounter a bunch of too big..too heavy.. too high and awakward tasks in my building also... I think of it as dancing with the fat lady.... in the ballet... . ya got to watch out for them first of all.. then the chorography of events is paramount.. then it's easy if you can keep the music playing slowly... all the best there...
