I've heard some people talk about it
I also heard of some people putting is in the drinking water
supposedly it will kill internal parasites too
Need help, rooster question!!!
crestedchick, It will kill both internal and external parasites. Apply with a Q-tip and just brush the back of the birds head with the medication. I am absolutelly certain that it is highly recommended by the most knowledgeable chicken person in the USA (Kris). Kris lives near Terre Haute, IN and has some of the most sought after chicken stock in the world. She's married to a chicken friend of mine who has an Orpington chat room. Ivomec works better than anything else to be accurate. I still have several Orpington chickens in blue, black, white and buff.
Awwww, poor Rafael. Bless his little chicken heart. I'm sorry he didn't make it.
But you did everything you could to make him comfortable. At least now he is not suffering any longer. I know it was hard for you to watch him suffer.
Yeah I really miss him now. You all help me a lot too, so thanks.
I was checking a few chickens that I missed 2 days ago, to see if any had flea, lice,...etc. And I found that only one had them. It was one of the smaller ones. I think that since he's so small, but old, the others won't let him dust. So I sprayed him with the Adams spray but on one side and a little on the other. But I saw he/she was still picking at it. I tried to grab him, but it's hard! How would I be able to check them easily, without having to chase them around???
Some people said to just do it at night when their all roosting. But I tried and they just hop of really fast! While others don't even roost. They just sit on this platform.

Hey Eric,
I was just reading your info here for a 'new problem' I have right now. Just thought I'd let you know - yeah, a year later - I use an aquarium fish net to catch my birds when needed. The long 'arm' one. Net their head. Once the net is over their head, hold it down until you can get your hand around the wings.
I use this method to catch all sized birds. Very effective & does not hurt them, even if they fight it. I found this was the only way to get a hold of the bobwhite, valley & button quail I had. Even worked on Ringneck Pheasant!
I have also used a true fish net. Like the ones used to bring a catch in the boat; however, I found that if they fight it, they could damage wings, etc.
Hope this helps, even though quite some time later than needed.
Cheryl
