My Garden Mid-June

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Susan, Everything looks fantastic! Lush.

I especially love how the lilies are so well placed next to the Clematis. It shows them off so well.

Sweet peas are sadly not lush and just fighting to stay alive in the heat and dryness.

Susan,
Can you show us a picture of Gaillardia 'Summer Kiss'? For some reason I remembered that you had one. I tried growing this once and it died. Then I could not find a vendor. I think of it from time to time.

Afraid my Summer Kiss died last winter too. I will get a photo of Lemons and Oranges tomorrow. It is my favorite this summer. Hope it lives.

Marietta, GA(Zone 7b)

Looks wonderful :) Yes, it's been very dry here too :(

Susan, did you brother have plans for the arbors?? Where did he get them??
:)

susan...love your whole place....gorgeous photos...and garden:)

Tampa, FL(Zone 10a)

lincolnitess,

Phlox drummondii is a good summer annual. Grows well all over the US, even Florida. Plants are hard to come by here, but, very easy from seed if you have the space to start it indoors.

If you look close you can see the 20-25 new baby fish...Red Danby Minnows had babies last week!
(Well maybe you can't see them :-)

RDT, here is Lemons and Oranges Gaillardia. If I remember right, it's a lot like Summer Kiss.

blakehall, great shed and pond! It looks like such a peaceful place to sit and dream.

I like the Phlox drummondii and tried to grow it one year form seed, but had problems with them germinating.

I know the arbor plans came from an old Work Bench magazine. I will have to check with my brother to see if he still has them.

Susan,
Are the 'Lemons and Oranges' an apricot color? That was what I found intriguing about the Summer Kiss.

Blakekhall-- The pond and waterfall is awesome and if my chair on the porch faced what yours does, I'd never get up off my bootie! LOL!

Whidbey Island, WA(Zone 7a)

Susan, your gardens are absolutely lovely - and your arbors are breathtaking - your brother is highly talented!!!

Blakekhall, my goodness - that shed is much too nice . . . more like a little getaway! Lovely pond area as well - and I also would never leave my chair if I had that view from my porch!!

McLean, VA(Zone 6b)

Blakehall,
Love, love, LOVE the shed. Wish you were local so it could spend part of its time in my yard!
