I'd like to suggest adding (under the foliage option) : "grown for the very elongated and thickened leaf stalk (the edible portion of the plant)" .
Rhubarb, Pieplant, Da Huang / Rheum rhabarbarum
Something like that probably is probably better as a comment that you add--the characteristics that are listed under foliage are supposed to be ones that are going to be true for many different plants, and something as specific as what you're suggesting is really only going to be true for rhubarb and not for very many other plants, so it doesn't really make sense for that to be a check box option that shows up every time someone adds a plant to PF, better to add it as a comment for the few plants it's true for if you think that's important info for people to have.
