Got a single Mom who just freaked out and killed a snake in her basement in Virginia. Can anyone tell me if it is a poisonous snake - was I should say....

It's definitely not a Copperhead.
I think it's a Northern Watersnake

I do believe claypa was right when he said it was a Black snake. It is definitely not a copperhead.

He was sounding real good in that Wikipedia article- -goes after chipmunks and other small rodents...but I wouldn't want him in my basement!
