I will be in Cleveland, OH tomorrow. Big city compared to pop 1,200 where I live. This is a one day trip. Can anyone recommend a nursery/garden center that carries a wide selection of conifers?
Know of Good Conifer Garden Centers In Cleveland?
Hi Snapple,
I don't really know what they carry but Petitti's (sp?) has some large stores in Cleveland and might have some decent stuff. Be worth calling ahead perhaps.
Regards,
Ernie
malusman, Good info. One is 8 minutes from our Cleveland destination. It was listed as store #1 so maybe the flagship? I tried calling but it was voice mail heck. I can afford 8 minutes. I'm taking the full sized van just in case I get lucky.

Managed to get to Petittis'. It was definitely worth the side trip. Could have spent several hours but as time was short managed the trees and shrubs. They have a large selection of garden hard goods furniture, fountains, statuary, pots etc. as well. Above average selection, although not any real rarities. The quality was far above average and the prices were very competitive. It was my lucky day because they just dropped all trees and shrubs to 50% off. The JM's were truly outstanding with stuff I've only seen in books. Had I known I would have brought a van instead of a Hyundai Sante Fe. They had a Trompenburg that was just insanely beautiful. I'll tell ya, compared to where I am confined to nursery shop, it would be worth it to go there at least once a season. I'm trying to justify a trip back for that Trompenburg. Thanks for the tip!
Hi Mary,
I've not been to the store that you went to but 6 or 7 years ago, location #4 was the hot item, a real show stopper. It was open but in it's final phase of construction when I was there. Now #8 is on their website as the latest and greatest. They do a nice job on growing the plants that they sell and the prices are good, as you found. Sounds like it might be a good idea for you to only take one credit card with you! ;-)
Regards,
Ernie
We go back to Cleveland in 5 weeks, not the best time to nursery shop, but I'm heading for store #8. Thanks Again
Mary
