My son, in Bene, Oregon, high desert, zone 5, has a 4 year spirea van houtte and it is about 4 ft tall. How much taller will it grow?
Spirea Van houtte
It does mention 6-8' in Plant Files. Maybe east of the Cascades it might take longer to reach that height.
Mine are hanging out at around 4' and they haven't grown much in the 5 years they have been here.
It is a hybrid between two Asian species, one (Spiraea trilobata) from northern China west to Turkestan, the other (S. cantoniensis) from central/southern China.
The climate in eastern OR is not dissimilar to that where S. trilobata comes from, so I'd guess it should grow well there.

The 6-8 ft was what I have read re: their height. Maybe it is a bit slower here in zone 5. It is a very pretty bush, I think and nice shape.
