The arbour with a seat has two baby rambling roses - Darlow's Enigma (aka Gandalf) on the right side as you face the arbour, and Super Dorothy on the left side (for Dorothy, my deceased m-i-l. Gandalf is supposed to be very fragrant. Currently, I am growing lavender ("Lady") which I will plant around the base of the roses.
The white arbour in the front yard has a clemantis growing on the left side as you face it. It seems to do okay in partial shade and has dark red/maroon flowers. Forgot the name.
The clemantis died to the ground this year, but is absolutely thriving with luxerious growth from the roots. DH and I have a debate as to whether it should be cut down in the spring or not. I guess we will find out when it blossoms.

Finally, pictures!
Michaela, I absolutely LOVE your house and gardens!! Way to go! Thanks so much for the show. I'll also be waiting for pics of the inside of the house. Nice job! You call yourself a beginner, but you're doing great!
Very nice!! I look forward to more pics as the season progresses. Al, I'm impressed - sounded like a "This Old House" episode!
Heck - I am just looking forward to flowers! I suspect the garden will be at its prime just as we go camping!
