That's silly, but fun.

But not as silly as one of my previous pics, that, as I recall, was described as "being slobbered on by a giant"! LOL

dybbuk, I thought I remembered you had posted a picture of this - just wondering how old your plant is? Purchased last year, lots of new growth but no "bowtie" :(

my bowtie is a baby. just got it this spring. i wouldn't say your photo is of a 'bowtie'. it looks like my 'blue lace'. where did you get the tree from?

'DJ's Bow tie' looks very much like 'Tubiformis' aka 'Tube Leaf' (very similar, anyway).

I just purchased and planted a grafted standard of G. b. 'Umbrellas'. It's a very nice tree - and the most expensive tree I have ever purchased.

I'll see if I can get a pic and post it.

Well darn, I really wanted 'DJ's Bowtie'! We picked them up last year from Brian Upchurch of Highland Creek Nursery in Asheville, NC. He has some great plants!

Mike please get a picture of 'umbrellas'. I've never seen one.

As far as 'bow tie' vs 'tubiformis', here's the difference I can see. 'Tubiformis' leaves are.....well tubes. 'Bow tie' leaves are completely flat except for the pleating near the center.

Hi Todd,
Here is a link to the photos page at The Ginkgo Pages. There is a photo of 'Umbrella' in the second row of photos, on the far right. I will also get a photo of my tree and post it.
