Found this guy yesterday hanging out on a trailing stem of my Gaura, I'm curious to know what he is and what he'll turn into. He's disappeared now so hopefully he's not out there munching something I really don't want him to!

One of the white-lined sphynx variations. Go halfway down this page for the images, and note that it was found feeding on Gaura in Austin.

Yep, that's definitely it! Some of the caterpillars on that page look exactly like him. I hope he comes back once he turns into a moth, I'd like to see that too!

i wish i had that on my gaura. all i ever get are those tiny metallic blue beetles. they're pretty, but..........

I get aphids too, just not on the gaura. They seem to prefer my Hibiscus. I like the sound of the Green Cure stuff, I'm going to have to keep my eye out for it!

i think they only sell it online at this time. all it is is potassium bicarbonate.
