Rabbits!

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

OMG!

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

My memory of being 15 doesn't seem much more discerning than that buck's.

Victor, You bought "used" coyote urine???

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Actually, the Coyote didn't have much use for it.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Too good!

The coyote doesn't have the rabbit problem.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

I think Victor should have bought brand new coyote urine. Did you get it on freecycle? I would be concerned that the used stuff would only keep used rabbits away.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Used rabbits taste like chicken.

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

You know this from experience, do you, Victor?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Are you confusing me with Pirl?

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

how can you tell if urine is new or used???? That is the question!

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

ok - - this is getting totally wierd, lol!

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

You guys are a riot! I think you should be in my backyard chasing the rabbits away with "bad rabbit jokes."
Yes, it was coyote pee I was thinking of. ..thanks for everyones imput!
Lynda

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Being earth-friendly, I will only use recycled Coyote urine.

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

Please send coyote pee priority mail.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Preferably male pee in said priority mail.

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

Oooops - you're right, Victor. I was confusing you with pirl. That's hard to believe 'cause pirl is so special!

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Pirl thinks Victor's recycled coyote urine is affecting his thinking. Is the male urine preferred over the female urine?

Can you envision a line up of coyotes with police grilling them about who gave at the forest and who didn't?

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

You guys better come up with a solution soon...my dogs are actually ignoring the rabbit staring at them! Gosh, they are practically playmates. Geesh!

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Which of your plants are they trying to nibble on? I've forgotten.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Have you tried sprays? Invisible Fence is supposed to work for deer and rabbits. It hasn't worked for deer for me but I have not seen any rabbit damage.

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

well i knew i would find something here on rabbits in the garden. although i did not know it would be quite so entertained with my morning coffee.
i have the cutest little brown baby bunny with a white cotton tail, that really shows up when he is scampering away. i can't quite figure out how a bright white tail is conducive to loosing the prey trying to get him? any ideas?
he has eaten my lily babies and chopped them off at the stem. the lower leaves, also, my morning glory seedlings, seems to really like the maple leaves that fall from the trees that are nice and green, oh and do you find they like daylily's or black eyed susans?

i told my dh that i needed him to pee in the back yard at the woods, he just stared at me like i had gone out of my mind. LOL

thanks for all the advice and humor

A while back we got on the subject of husbands donating for the garden and the thread was shut down although it was hilarious. Just thought we might not want to have this one closed, too.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Debi, You married a coyote??

Victor differentiates the male coyotes by whether they pee standing up.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

No the females pee on the males.

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

well i can see what part of the thread "the boys" were attracted too. now no one did answer my question about black eyed susans or daylilies.!!!
LOL
behave kids.

I rip out any BES I find, even before the rabbits find them. They just self-seeded way too much for me. They've never bothered even one of our daylilies. Most damage is done to Asiatics and Orientals - new growth being the preferred meal of choice. I use blood meal but maybe Franklin might be attracted to it and dig. Some dogs do and some don't.

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

I don't have bunnies.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Not even dust bunnies??

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Debi, What was your question?

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Dave: Debi asked, "....do you find they like daylily's or black eyed susans?"

Seandor - thank your lucky stars.

Victor!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Pirl!

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

You're definitely more fun than the bunnies, Victor!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks - and a lot less furry these days.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Debi, I have no idea. They seem to leave my daylilies alone. I don't have BES.

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

Especially not dust bunnies! (And if you believe that, I know of a bridge you might be interested in purchasing . . . )
