June 8th Lilies
What a fine garden specimen! No matter how many I see, I still fall in love with that lily everytime. It's so wonderful smelling and so crisp and clean looking.
Thank you; Susan and Mag;
I've been out there where my Lily is and hurried it along for the last few days. lol
Susan, I love the Spring Pink, so delicate like a baby girl's bonet. I love it.
Susan,
What stunning display!!! From here, The looks of full glory!!!!
Nice combo, jmorth.
jmorth; My mouth drops with the sight of "Unkown"!!!! Congrats.
Deep red Unknown, Coral Sunrise and Marquee all make my mouth water. Yummy!
These are all so beautiful! Thanks for the lily fix until mine start to bloom!
What a nice, soft pink, Mainiac.
I love them all......
Beautiful lilies, everyone - love that Oklahoma!
Mainac, lovely, lovely, lovely! Just wait till next year when it's bigger and stronger than ever! :)
Steve, love that Orienpet! Beautiful clear soft butter yellow... Can't wait to see Silk Road.

Echoed Diann's comments. Ooooh, Steve, If I haven't mentioned that I wanted 2/3 of your selection, 75% of others posted. Problem is, I've been working on the side yard, making new Lilies beds of their own. Unfortnately it's on the Northwest corner of the property. Would that not be an ideal location for tall lilies? Currently I've a Southwest location (thus sheltered from North wind, and shaded by a Rose arbor in the evening), but it happens to be in front of the house. I found lanky tall lilies sort of too wild for the front of the property, especially once the blooms are spent. Any suggestion offer would be appreciated.
Thanks Diann, I really like your Menorca and Lollipop. I had "Stones" at the old house. They got really large and had huge bud counts. Mine however washed out and faded in the sun and weren't the clear red in the catalog pictures. Yours however look very nice!
Lilylove,
I think anyplace is a good location for tall lilies! Actually the corner of the house would be ideal. Just one thing to watch out for, they'll do better with northern or eastern exposures as our western sun in summer afternoons can be pretty tough on most plants.
Silk Roads in particular aren't lanky and have really thick, strong stems. I staked mine to prevent them from drooping when the flowers open. I had to buy the biggest stakes they had at Home Depot. It gets quite windy here as well. If you have an arbor to shade them, that would be ideal. I have some others opposite the ones in the pictures that you can't see, and they're just about as tall.
I have about 130 more lilies ordered already for planting this fall! heheh
Oh my ~ I knew you'd be back in full swing in no time!
Thanks Steve,
Just rub it in why don't you? LOL, Isn't it too early to order for lilies now? Humm, I'd better get going before all the selection I wanted are gone.
Anyone has grown Formosa lily? Comes Monday, I'll take a tour to this beautiful Local Garden, where Formosa were grown. I'm so excited of the prospect of returning to the garden during prime time of the year. Will post some pics. then.
It's never too early to order lilies ~ but you won't get them until proper planting time. :)
Ditto that, Moby. What a girl to do without a girlfriend? lol
Ya know, quite a few of my orientals seem to be pouting and aren't showing up at all. I'm just going to be patient with them and hope they choose to make an appearance next spring.... *sigh*
Diann
It is hot as HECK here today!!!!!!!
Anyone else in the same boat???
