CLOSED: Please Advise - Syphrid Allograpta?

Greensboro, NC(Zone 7b)

OK, I'm very new to bug identification, but I'm trying.

I've got some small hover flies that I'm trying to identify - I think they might be Syphrid Allograpta, but not sure. Would someone please help determine what they are?

This first photo was taken last night, unfortunately didn't get his abdomen, but I think he is a male given the size of the eyes.

The next two photos I'll post are from this morning, and look to be females of the same type.

Of course, I may be totally off-base.

Thanks for your help!

Yes, Linda you seem to be right. I believe it is Allograpta obliqua: http://bugguide.net/node/view/33714/bgimage
