Wow Delisa, you have a lot of good plants. Your yard will be full of butterflies. Show us pictures when you get a chance. WE like to look at other peoples stuff. It gives us ideas. : )

Delisa,

I suspect you should wait until the seeds mature and ripen. When the pods start to open is when they would be "planted" by Mother Nature. I dont think they'd have enough stored energy to make a plant until then.

Maggi I was wondering about planting early because I had knocked a immare seed pod off of a brugmansia and so planted to see if they would still come up. They came up much faster than the dried mature harvested seed. I am doing a trial with the coral bean. I planted 5 seed yesterday and will see what happends.

Delisa- well good for you! LMK how that works. I'd love to try it.

It won't be the first time logic failed;-) If I had a nickel for every time my DH Geek said "it can't happen that way" when the computer most surely DID happen that way- I'd be butterfly gardening every day of the week!

Two days ago I planted 5 green seed. Today I pulled the dirt back a bit and the outer coating has turned red and is spliting away from a green interior. I think that is good news! Fingers crossed if it is working they should be coming up soon and I will go pick more seed. I would love to plant them all over this place. I have never been able to dig them up and get them to live.
