This one is possibly also the European Praying Mantis (Mantis religiosa): http://www.soulpix.com/animals/mantis_mantide.html

That is not a European Mantis. I do not know what kind of mantis it is. It looks a little like Sphodromantis sp.

I do not think there is a kind of Sphoromantis in southern Spain. Most or all of the Sphodromantis sp. I know about seem to live in tropical areas.

Here is a picture of my female and male Sphodromantis sp. "Blue Flash".

The one on the right of my picture is a female and the one on the left is a male. They are both L6 or L7.

It is warm in southern Spain! I did not know that.

Another possibility is a nymph of an introduced species, Hierodula bioculata - the wings of the adult are quite distinctive - http://www.flickr.com/photos/stevepowells/6315437708/

Yes, it could be that. I do not know what kinds of mantids live in southern Spain.

That is a sub-adult female. My pre-sub-adult female Blue Flash looks more like the mantis WayuU took a picture of.
