Unusual Amount of Dai Tubes

Mesilla Park, NM

I've been putting this post off for a couple of days. A number of Dai Tubes on several different flowers have been showing up and I can't explain it.

Here is Cornell from yesterday.

Hi Gourd,

I`m not fimiliar with Cornell MG and it looks interesting. Is the trilobe leaf at the bottom of this posted picture growing from a different plant? It`s inconsistant with Picotee MG plants leaf and I`m just curious. I have several Picotee plants growing and non have trilobe leaves.

Gourd when you get the picture of the bloms send us a close up of tthe leaves on the picotee mix. I`d like to see these. The dai tubes are unusual. It would be interesting to see if these will come back from seeds because you may have you something fun and interesting to keep and grow there.

several leaves of the plant, also can someone tell me what this type of leaf is called. I was reading a little and it has that whirlpool where it meets the stem.. I may have interpreted that wrong.

I'll take more flower photos this morning.

Gourd - The dai type reverse tube on this one here
http://pics.davesgarden.com/pics/Gourd_1180967907_452.jpg
looks outstanding as the fuchia upward tube provides more of a physical and resultant coloration contrast of the different corolla parts...

Very(!),Very(!) nice looking...

Ron

P.S. - it's so interestingly mysterious as to why you are getting so many of the reversed tubes...
