CLOSED: Sorry, squished to quick..ID from description?

Peachtree City, GA(Zone 7b)

This is damage to leaves on a Canna. The new leaves looked like they were tied closed with a silky thread. So I sliced the silk and there were 5 kindy see-through colored wormy things and hundreds of black yucky eggs (kinda looked like slimy caviar) They didnt look like normal caterpillars and I panicked and squished them and washed off the eggs. Hopefully someone can ID from the damage and description, if not I will be on the lookout for more!
thanks,
chris

Probably the Brazilian Skipper, also called the Canna Leafroller, Calpodes ethlius. Here's a pic of the caterpillar, did it look like this?

We have those here and they really do a number on the cannas.
