I need to install my irrigation system. While I am trying to decide what will give me the best performance for my money PBTXLADY and SMOCKETT have advised me not to make a move without them. Do anyone have any ideas on this or would like to come over and help ;). We can even have another party, whereas I intend to be present this time. LOL SHEILA ... DAWN ... Where are you? Anyway I would love some input. In the past I have used the DIG system, but had a problem with pushing holes in the 3/4 inch PVC tubing .. I just did not have the strength ... maybe they have come up with something different here lately?

I went shopping today ... 200 ft of 3/4 inch tubing ... 7 bags of 50ft 1/2 inch soaker hose. I got barbs, emitters, back flow, swivel something or the other. I got 140 dollars worth of stuff. I wonder if I got the brown soaker hose they will look good under the pine straw .. wont be able to tell its there.
Sheila I have not been giving much attention to the front yard. ;) I will put one of those big black one out there.
Oh Oh! I forgot to get the triple spigot fixture for the faucet.

I will need to keep boiling water going ... you stick the hose in it and it suppose to make the PVC more supple to punch holes it.

Sylvia, you better get those plans on paper so we all know just what we can do to help. Also so you can make sure you have the coverage you need and the supplies. Just pace off the size of the yard and draw it to scale. (1/2" = 1foot) would be easy to read.
If someone can tell me what tools we would need, I am sure I can supply them.

I have 2 small shovels that I thought I would bring. If Sheila could bring a hoe, I think we might get this system laid down pretty easy.

I am here..... this system lays on top of the ground, why do we need shovel and hoes? We are not burying anything except for under that pine straw. I got two hundred ft of 3/4 in pvc pipe that goes around the perimeter. I got four corner connects. Then we cut the 3/4 to fit each side of the yard . we connect the piping in the corner with those four connectors.
next we punch holes in the 3/4 piping and connect the 1/4 tubing into the 3/4. these wiil be cut into enough pieces to run the little soaker hose from the fence into the middle of the yard or what ever length is needed.
Maybe before we connect the corners of the 3/4, we should punch the holes for the soaker hoses so we dont have to get on our knees to much. Punching those holes is going to be the hardest thing to do. :(
I suggest the last thing to do is connect;
timer
backflow device
fht filter
pressure regulator
swivel adaptor
to the faucet, here we need manpower lol Really guys this ABOVE THE GROUND LAYOUT. You dont think I want to do any digging. I should get some PVC glue too. Also I saw some little BROWN1/4 in, I wonder if they were soaker hoses, theye would look better under the pinestraw.

Well this is sounding a lot better than I expected! I may be able to sit and punch the hole with you Sylvia while the others assemble the system. So no tools except for the hydrant.....what do you need there? A couple of pipe wrenches?

Yea, I think the brown soaker would look fine under the pine straw, unless the brown is a different thickness.
What brand timer did you get? Is it a 24 hr one? Do you have batteries for it?
I'll bring the PVC glue if it is still good.
Is your PVC pipe white?
Sheila pipe wrenchs would be great! I got two NELSON water timer. they use 2 AA I think I got some of those. LInda check out your pvc glue too. My PVC hose is black. Lord I hate to go to that HD again, they hit me up for at least fifty dollars every time I go there. you should see this double faucet connector for the spigot., it has little flexible hoses on each side ... really cool ... yellow and black ... look as if it belongs on a race car. lol I got a lot of extra stuff, everthing we dont use is going back. to HD;) I am really excited about this guys ...we will have one heeck of a brunch. :)

I would never get that to do any thing here. You know what I am looking for now is that Silverleaf Maple. I saw one at HD for 59.00, but I had no way of getting it home. Also I think Estaban ist ired of digging and planting trees. He was trying to tell me something about the tree, but I dont know what. He never planted my Fig tree either. Linda when you come maybe we can go get that tree. I am going to put another plum out front and put this in the back. I got two mimosa on order too for the front. LOL I am going tree crazy .lol

It will be nice to see you all again. I feel like I have been out of the country since my surgery since I missed the RU in the fall and in the spring. Debnes did come for a visit and brought some of the Gulf Fritillary cats to feed on my passion vine. They are just now eclosing and chasing each other around. It will be nice to get back in touch with some of my garden friends!

The Desert Rose are not seed. They are small plants but the cost was small & they are fr seed which means they look like ponytail palm bottoms, not a stalk. Too early in the heat for blooms.
