Droopy calla blooms - need help

Dalton, GA(Zone 7a)

My callas didn't bloom much last year (1st yr.) and the blooms were small. This year I have more and they are larger but the stems are are bent over. Could I be watering them too much (2 - 3 times a week for the past month or so of no rain).?

Thanks for any suggestions,
Sherry

I would pick up a moister meter at one of the home improvement places like Home Depot. That are not very expensive and you just might find out you have been overwatering. However, the first sign of that is yellowing leaves.

How much sun are your callas getting? It could be they are not getting enough, hence growing taller and flopping over. Some need more sun than others. What kind do you have? Anyway, there are a lot of good sites on the web that can help with the culture and you could also ask over on the bulb forum where there are probably people who know a whole lot more than me about callas.

They get 6 - 10 hrs. of sun depending on their location. Couldn't see a pattern related to amt. of sun.

Out of a dozen plants, I only have 1 yellow leaf so I guess that's a good sign that I'm probably not overwatering.

I watered deeply Thurs. morn. Noticed there were no new droopy stems this morning , Maybe the problem was not enough water!

Thanks for the info!

Sherry
