Moby,
I wanted to thank you for sharing your experiences/advices regarding Lilies' culture. I've learned so much, and feel more confident on caring for my lilies. As a bonus, I can enjoy/share the beauties of yours/others from our forum. Thank you all.
Kim

You're most welcome ~ I'm still learning every day.

Southern, WI(Zone 5a)

Leave it to Moby to have some real beauties to start out this thread. I must be behind everyone in the lily dept. Perhaps it's just the varieties I have are later. Enjoying yours.

Fox River Valley Are, WI(Zone 5a)

I won't have any for a bit. Closest is Viva @ 1 week out. Majority of mine were planted last Fall & this Spring.

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

I couldn't believe it when I saw that Dimples had opened 3 blooms ~ it's been rather cool and rainy. Everything was just green as could be 2 days ago.

Sand Springs, OK(Zone 7a)

wow
You are having beautiful bloom and after a late fall move ?
i have way to many missing tags from my fast Aug .move
God bless

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Can't believe how many tags I have missing. The garden is looking fantastic due to the DG angels that descended upon it last November. :)

It looks like it will be a great year at new place

Haydenville, MA(Zone 5a)

Great lilies! Mine are still but little buds and not even that for many.....sprouts! Only one close is the Mrs ROBackhouse....hopefully they will bloom soon.

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

You're ahead of me with your blooms Moby. Maybe that move helped them. Your garden is looking great. What happened to the tags? I thought most of them were there when we planted. Dimples is a little doll. Think my first bloom will be very soon.

I know that a few of my temporary tags (plastic) were blown around, probably due to the entire area being soft from tilling. And I stepped on and broke a few. Then there are those few lilies with sneakers on....

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

I've gotta have some of those Lilies Moby has. (I already wanted most of Steve's lilies), lol. But some of the talk about lilies' beatles kind of shied me away from being a serious lilies collector. Besides other pests like voles that eat our bulbs. Your thought?

Chicago, IL(Zone 5b)

I love the color of those lilies. Sort of... watermelony???

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Yep, watermelon describes it very well.

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Ceres popped open today. I think it will be the only May bloomer for me this year. It is a double Asiatic.

Nice color!

Still have your Cathedral Windows? I miss that one ~ it croaked last winter because it was so dry.

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

It's beautiful.

OC, CA & Twin Lakes , IA(Zone 4b)

There are a lot of beautiful buds here; added quite a few new lilies last year so hoping to have something new to look at. So far, this is my first to bloom.

Mrs. Dani Arifan LA Lily . . . have had it about 4 years.

Nice, twinlakes, love that color. You guys are making me think I must have something close to blooming, but then again.....with my love of orientals and OTs, it shouldn't surprise me, huh?

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Oh yes, the color is adorable!!!!

OC, CA & Twin Lakes , IA(Zone 4b)

Thank you . . . last year I cursed that lily because I had too much pink . . . went out and bought more different ones.

This year when the iris all but didn't bloom . . . now I am thankful for that lily. It is the only color we have at this moment.

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

TwinLakesChef;
I thought I was only one that missed out on Irises' blooms this season. The weather is odd this year!!!!

Southern, WI(Zone 5a)

Hey, one of my pot planted lilies came out today. This is 'Purple Prince' that I bought at the flower show in February and ppotted up. It looks a lot more oriental to me than Orienpet, but it is pretty and smells nice too.

Congrat Mag. There you go! Happy, happy, happy!

OC, CA & Twin Lakes , IA(Zone 4b)

What a joy! I'm anxious to see more.

Lily_Love,
someone said the iris will be even better next year.

Des Moines, IA(Zone 5a)

This is my third year on the lilly's that I got at the roundup & they still havn't bloomed yet. They are growing about 2ft apart & there is 5 of them. Does anyone have an answer.???
Jerry.

Southern, WI(Zone 5a)

Can you post them rose? It might help us to help you.

OC, CA & Twin Lakes , IA(Zone 4b)

Jerry, good to see you posting. I have a few lilies that have never bloomed either but don't know enough about them to know which kind they are or why. I thought maybe I planted them too deep or they don't get enough sun. Just don't know for sure. Also have an iris that has never bloomed. I wanted to raise it up thinking it was too deep but Wanda said just wait . . . sometimes they take a few years.

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

TwinLake;
What kind of Iris? Are they bearded Iris? If so, it's said to plant them shallowly in the South (I'm not sure in your regions), for the rhyzomes need sun to encourage flowering. But with the snow covered area, those must be mulched heavily I assumed? One thing I can say, last winter did a number on my un-mulch Iris bed. But young ones are beginning to sprouts, so I'm hoping for the next year's return.

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Irises are planted the same here, with no mulch necessary. I've never covered them with anything other than the handful of stray leaves that get caught in the Fall.

The pink lilies are sure putting on an early show this year. :)

Greenwood, IN(Zone 5b)

Wow Moby, beautiful double Asiatics you have. And Lincolnitess looks like you're going to have a bouquet on one stem with all of your buds!!

Well Magnolia you do have some lilies to show for it this year after all.....:-) I like your Purple Prince....haven't tried that one and I have a lot of Orienpets.
