Yep, I kept Him! I really didnt need another roo,and when I found that he just wouldnt get along with CockleLooLoo, I knew he couldnt stay! .....RIGHT!!!! ( I fell In Love!...again)
So I put CockleLooLoo and all his ladies and Ladies in Waiting in the big Yard next to the barn! This left Poor old Buddy Boy all alone! He was so pathetic going from Pen to Pen looking in at all the pretty girls and having not even one girl all his own!
Buddy, my big BuffO. has a Harem!!!
I only had 11 week old girls that were just to young for Old Buddy! Except for the 2 older Barred Rocks Hens , that were CockleLooLoo's Ladies , What was I to do?
Then last week I noticed an add in our local paper! Some one had some older Mixed Hens that needed a new home... YaaaaaaY! ( Ask and Ye shall recieve!)
So I went and got 6 beautiful old girls , just the right size and age for old Buddy! They were starting to go through a moult , but I could see that they were healthy but just a little long in the Tooth! Who Cares ! To me they were just what we needed.
Here's the oldest , an Araucana I named her Granny Annie!
I would imagine that Buddy Boy is a HAPPY camper also.
Aw, Eufala, that's so sweet of you to look out for his male ego. LOL I'll bet he's one happy rooster now.
Granny Annie sure is pretty.
Thanks Halnik and Hart! Yep Ole Buddy Boy is doing his happy Chicken Dance around here now! the old girls all seem to be very happy too! They didnt show any stress at all in the relocate! All is well in Chickenville!!!!!
Hart big ole Granny Annie is so sweet! She is a really calm ole girl and is laying beautiful Green eggs too! Here let me show you!
Those are some nice looking chickens! I love my chickies, I cannot wait till they are full grown so I can really see what they are going to look like!!
It was nice to give those older gals a good home And a nice boy to take care of them!
Okay now, you had a rooster that had to go and instead he stayed and got friends instead??? LOL I am starting to worry about you a little bit. ;)
Eufaula honey, you're so sweet. You're just a sucker for a "big talking" guy who's tall, red, and handsome. ;)
Buddy Boy and the old gals from across town look like a match made in chicken heaven! Good for you!!!
~~ Glenda
He must be very happy, nice looking gals and eggs to boot. Can't beat that. I can't wait to get some green eggies for breakfast.

(Heh heh heh) You all know me soooooooooo well! Ive always been a sucker for a good lookin' guy! My girlfriends (way back when) used to call me a Bum Magnet! I just took in any body and everybody needing a place to stay or a good meal! Now that I 've gotten older and wiser and less money.......Well my chicks and other animals love me and give me everything in the world they can to make me happy! ( oooops! My Ole DH too! Sorry Honey!) Lol!!!!!

Hmmmm, I see that THAT rooster does not have a harem so you obviously have your limits. ;)
Badseed, You just cant even imagine!!! I just dont think that ,that ole 6ft rooster could handle any more Old Hens like me! Especially since there is no" Free Ranging "around here!!!! Hahahahaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!
Hey Eufaula, I see a common theme here....
Nice hat/comb, reddish coat/feathers, both standing tall with a nice strut! Ha! I'm willing to bet your DH has his hands full with just YOU! LOL!
ROTFLOL Yeah, free ranging could certainly lead to a beheading. LOL
Hmmmmm. Does Caponization ring a bell!!!!!!!!
Now what have I done to a perfectly innocent post about a lonely man?? LOL
Uh Oh! Im a baddy! LOL!!!
You all are cracking me up. And Glenda I was thinking the same thing when I saw the picture of Eufaula's DH, "Hmmm, tall, red, handsome." LOL
Those are beautiful eggs, Eufaula, and how sweet of you to help out Tracey.
Heeeey, You guys! Quiet on the Tall and Handsome , Im trying to keep him humble!!!! Ole "Iron Horse" ,still thinks hes a young upstart! But Gals you ought to see him when hes in full regalia , Whooooeeee! He can still strut his feathers at gatherings!

Well now arent you two a handsome couple! Beautiful picture of Mom and son! Those great big Hibiscus are gorgeous, You must have a great big Green thumb!!!
Tell NB, His Birthday is the day after mine!!!
Eufaula,,NB said Happy Birthday sooner !! He is so happy with eggs coming on Wednesday!!! He keeps me on my toes at all times of the day when summer school is out...
Here's a question NB and I candled the silkie egg and it was all cloudy in side of it and I was wanting to know if I'm doing it right I have turned the egg 3 times a day and it moves a little and it is day 6 th and no movement today is something wrong with it???
Tracey
If it's only day 6 it's too soon to be definite. A lot of folks wait till day 7-10 before they ever candle an egg.... by then you should see red veins etc..
Have you googled a search on incubating a chicken egg... ??? There are some wonderful sites out there, including many with pictures of what an embryo should look like at what stage.

Julie,,
I have never hatched an egg before this is my first time..
I will google this Thank you very much and I will keep updates.
Eufaula, You have D-Mail...
NB is asking how are you sending the eggys???
Tracey
Incubating eggs can be wonderfully exciting and stressful at the same time. Just remember it's unlikely ALL the eggs will hatch. There are many things that can go wrong no matter how careful you are.
So as someone advised don't count your chickies before they hatch otherwise you may be disappointed.
Good luck and hope you have a great hatch !!
~Julie
Julie,
Thank you and hope they all hatch at the same time..
But I'm not count chickens befor they hatch..
Eufaula,
NB said to thank you and he gave me a big hug for you..
He is off to summer school this morning..
His last day of summer school is June 27,07
Thank god then I will be able to sleep in maybe if he doesn't
wake me up at 6:30 am.. I have to get him up at 6:00am
and get him ready every school day and he gets on the bus at
7:04am and is on the bus for 1hour..
I think I may take him to school some times..
He is very execided to get eggs in the mail from you and
I will pick them up as soon as I can get to the phone to call
the post office at 7:00am..
Tracey
