It looks very similar to Elodie, but with pollen. Beautiful pic!

Could be Marlene which is known to fasciate. There are pictures of Marlene in the PlantFiles.

Marlene doesn't have the small spots in the center. http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/49935/index.html

Is it my imagination, or are several of those blooms semi-doubles? Are all those bloom on a few stems or do you have many stems in there?

Pard ~ how do you know what is prone to fasciation? Is there a list somewhere? I'd love to see it as I enjoy the unusual.

" as I enjoy the unusual." LOL Oh Moby you wouldn't be Moby if you didn't. :)

Moby, I don't know of any list of lilies that tend to fasciate. I may have read about Marlene in one of my lily books and I know I have read comments on the forums of other sites. Latvia fasciated big time for me last year but no sign of similar behavior this year.

Hi,
Sorry for the delay in thanking everyone for your responses.
I'm am still just a novice gardener so please bare with me here.........what is meant by fasciated.
All these beautiful blooms were on only a few stems.

lLittle late posting on this old thread but I looked up "faciated" and this is what I found. I, too, didn't know what it mean't.

"Faciated stems are those that get flattened and produce several times the amount of bloom they normally would, the reasons for faciation are not understood, but when a lily does it it is spectacular! Faciated stems should be staked because the weight of all those blooms can cause them to break."

Geez, I'm sorry you didn't get an answer sooner, rainy jane.

In 2006 I had a grossly fasciated stem of Rosario. You can see here that it was about 2" wide and only 1/8" thick.

Here's a big ol' thread about fasciated lilies that we've grown. http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/598436/

Just a guess but your lilies look like 'Vermeer' or 'Sorbet'

Thanks Pixie and everyone for your replies.
I probably will never be 100% sure which one it is but I know it is by far the pretties one I have.
