CLOSED: Predatory fly?

Brockton, MA(Zone 6a)

This fly caught my eye because it was eating another bug. It flew to another stem with the bug when I got too close, then settled down for this shot.
What is it? Thanks.

Some variety of Robber fly, perhaps?

Whew, AndyP ..
Tis sure nuff, a tuff one .. but, then the 'fly'-like bugs usually are! (heehee)

The closest photo I could come up with is in the Family, Muscidae .. from BugGuide.net
But, still, isn't quite 'right'. > http://bugguide.net/node/view/88233

One super-fine photo you've captured of this flyin' beast, AndyP !!

Sarahskeeper,
your fly seems to be a Tiger Fly of the genus: Coenosia: http://bugguide.net/node/view/16057/bgimage
quite possibly Coenosia humilis (mispelled in BugGuide as humulis): http://bugguide.net/node/view/16060/bgimage
Could you please add it to BugFiles,

Ken

Thanks, Magpye. You were right there. (How ya doin'?)
Kennedy, I'd be glad to add it to BugFiles. But I always get something wrong.
Thanks for the ID.
Andy P
