Didn`t it give you a surprise the way it makes these little wadded up looking buds and then you walk out one morning and to see the blooms unfurled into beautiful shapes. That picture of yours is very exellently representative of how pretty the Gypsy Bride really is.

Thanks! The side view reminded me of those flowers I used to make from kleenex when I was a kid! I was also delighted to see the little bits of purple on it. Hopefully subsequent flowers will have better formed eyes.

These are somewhat reluctant to make seeds. They don't seem to have as much pollen as other purpueas.

I've been hand pollinating, too. Taking pollen from the blooms that seem to have the most to the ones that don't seem to have much.
