I believe it's a lily anyway.
I moved into this new house not quite a year ago and some new plants keep emerging as the seasons progress. This is the first time these have flowered for me and I'd love to know what they are. If there's any special attention this cultivar might need I'd love to know. I'm brand spankin new to lilies and have never had one before. This new house has about 5 clumps like the one here.
Once I figure out what these are I can refer to my gardening books and see what makes them tick. As I've said, I know 'squat' about lilies.
Thank you for any and all help you might provide.
By the way, I live in zone 7, Charlotte, NC. if that will help you figure out what these may be.
Would someone please tell me about this lily
It's a Daylily, not liliium.. Try the daylily forum...

Ahhh, thank you.
Your flower is a Daylily (Hemerocallis species). A lily of sorts, but not a true lily belonging to the Lilium genus. Although this forum is dedicated to true lilies, none of us are sticklers (except me with taxonomy), and no one is going to run you off this forum. Most of us like all sorts of lilies too.
I am not real learned on daylilies, but yours looks like what most people call the Common daylily or Ditch lily. A nice plant in the right place, nevertheless. By the way, I just acquired a new daylily last week. With a name like Creepy Crawly, who can resist?
Your pic is great! I think I am going to steal your idea of a close-up inset with the full plant pic. I am sure it has been done before, but never though about doing it myself, for some reason.
MullettMan , I just love your name .
We call our GS Mullett Head .
