quiyn, darius and me

We had a great day. We went to the Farmer's Market near Asheville (Israel Brothers Nursery is right there), went to see darius' progress with her 3-year-old property and stuffed ourselves at a Chinese restaurant buffet line. After quyn and her significant other camp for a week, we're gonna "DO" Biltmore.

Woodspirit... When Quynh and Adrian came back to my house to retrieve that cute puppy they got from Sandy (SDoglover), we sat amidst the mosquitoes, played with the puppy, and talked until nearly dark. I really enjoyed meeting them and you... one of the nicest things about DG is meeting (online or in person) the NICEST people!

Tickled pink ya'll got together...a succes story! I remember quyhn saying they were going hiking in somewhere around sliding rock..I just know they're gonna have a good time! A beautiful area ya'll live in! (darius, did they take the puppy camping with them?)

It's sounds like you all had a wonderful time! I wish I didn't live so far away - I would love to visit Biltmore too. Did anyone buy anything special at the nursery?

Shoe... they take that puppy everywhere! Only reason it was at my house is because they couldn't tae it into the restaurant... and it was too hot in the car to leave 'Simon'... Cutest puppy I have seen in a long time. My dachshund, Morgan, is still ignoring us because we let 'that dog' on her porch, LOL!

Carol... Quynh bought a cactus (I don't know cactus), and took a cutting of epiphyllum oxaleate from me. Woodspirit bought 2 pots of a neat fern to put by her front door, and I found a nice dicentra... the one that blooms all summer, for my in-prograss woodland garden. This time of year, Jesse Israel doesn't have much. I wanted to go to BB Barns, my favorite local nursery, but they are closed on Sunday. I'd think we'd have more DG members in the area than just woodspirit and me. Woodspirit says there is someone near her in Highlands but couldn't reach him/her to join us.

oh we had a great time. they are some wonderful women. adrian was glad too that we'd decided to do this. she (darius) has a beautiful garden for only 3 years. love that bamboo work and all those wonderful painted gordes.
biltmore, how can i not "DO" biltmore after the way these two go on about it? looking forward to another wonderful meeting.

ps simon does go with us everywhere. he is quite the dependent puppy who is now howling because he's out back and can't see one of us. oh he just quieted down better go let him in before he gets going again. this dog goes on like a crying baby when we leave him.

darius and quynh, I planted the ferns last night in pots that hang from iron rings on each side of my front door. I get so busy during the week, that I was afraid i wouldn't get them planted. I swear I think 4 moths got down my nightgown before I got through. Here I am in my short nightgown, planting ferns, jumping around and squealing (and cursing just a little) and my husband wakes up to see if I'm being murdered or have lost my mind. Ah, a great way to end a great day.

Quynh, glad to hear that your trip is going so well and you are getting to meet so many people from DG. It sounds like Simon has really, really bonded with the two of you. Which classes will he be attending in the fall..he..he(since he can't let you out of his sight)Maybe, by the time your vacation is over and you are heading back to school, I will have some labrador puppies and you can swing through and get one...you know..to keep Simon company..;)
