I have a chinese elm tree that has had a large lower branch cut out (before I moved here). For the past two years, we've noticed that it's weeping sap from it and never seems to heal over. I just took a close look at it and for the first time saw at least 5 nematode looking tiny worms slithering about in the smooth area where the branch was cut. above them there was a tiny hole that I noticed little bubbles of liquid spitting out (which is causing the wet, weeping that we noticed). Any idea what these are or what I should do about them? The tree is fairly healthy - there have been small dead branches, but nothing out of the ordinary. I can't find any other areas that look wierd, and I could not find any odd insects other than the worms!

How about a picture? Without looking at it, kind of hard to tell. Might have been improperly pruned and then a canker set in. The "worms" would be secondary opportunists. A picture would really be the best way to get an idea of what's going on.
