Today I decided to move my struggling Sweetbay Magnolias. I put them in last year. I read that they could take shade, but I think they were in too much shade. One has barely budded this year, the other has leaves that are about 1.5" right now - just starting to unfurl. Neither bloomed. I was worried about them staying in the shade another year, so I put them in a sunnier spot. Not sure if they will survive the move, any ideas? I'll keep them watered well....
I know we had a strange, warm winter and then a late freeze so things are a little confused right now in our yard. I'll post some pictures....
I love magnolias and really hope that these will survive...
Thanks - Kara
