Caught this guy last night under the lights...gave him/her a little while in the fridge this morning, but he woke up too quick. Got a couple of quick shots before he took off....it has some 'stag beetle' like horns, but I've never seen a fuzzy beetle.
CLOSED: Fuzzy Beetle
Maybe this genus, Phyllophaga:

The photos on the left look like your beetle. There's a carrion beetle that's fuzzy too, but it has ridges and bumps that yours doesn't. But maybe another one?
I'm guessing the common May Beetle too...we call 'em June Bugs...but most I've seen are slick.
got a Genus...need a species now...will keep hunting...
what about this guy..??
