This bloomed inside, very pretty... also has lots of bud on it, hopefully it will do as well outside.
I. nil Cornell aka Red Cornell
nice
I love it too. Don't see this one or Wedding Bells as often as
we should.
Jackie
Lovely!
I don't think I've seen this one before, nice!
Pretty Pretty!!!
I've always liked the solid center/colored tube of this one! What a great example. - Arlan
Thanks everyone,
if it weren't for computer problems , i'd be happy..
The edges of this particular MG are lavender, even though they look white, and this beauty stayed open until 2 PM inside the house. A couple of others that bloomed this morning outside were already closed by 8:30 AM, they looked beat.
edited to say: deep down the neck there is a little bit of white.

I love the color of this one. The white picotee edge may show changes. Let us know if you see more white increasing over time. I`m just curious so please update if you see any changes as the vine matures.
Karen, sure, I will keep track of it, If I remember correctly, when I grew this in 2005 or 2004, it looked like this one.. the one in the plantfiles has more picotee edge.. Here is a hitchiker in these buds of Cornell this morning (I wonder what it will be).. They are not open yet this morning, my kind of MG.
Really Nice
First what do you mean by hitch hiker? Did you use clean store bought dirt? Were your seeds sold as Cornell? Did all the ones you planted sprout or did you find "extras" sprouting from where you may have forgotten a previous planting? This will help figure something out.

Seeds were from my plants in 2005, and the original seeds were from a trade from 2004. I did use new soil and sowed 4 seeds. So, there are four vines in a 3 gal. pot. I'm going to band all the blue ones, I found one in the plant files called Isochidori that looks a little like it (well it looks alot like it to me) but I'm sure there a ton of differences that I can't spot.
I`d save the seeds off the blue one and plant again. I`ll bet they will turn out some nice looking flowers.
If you hand pollinate the pink ones they should come back the same. All are very nice flowers.
The second and third blooms for Cornell were the same as the first one, maybe later they will get the full picotee edge, I'll keep my eyes open.
I'm marking the blue flowers with those black straw bands.. Also, I've got them blooming inside my house, do you think that they will cross, and also, dont' they have to be blooming at the same time? The reason I ask is that the blue one opened and the others didn't that day. A.
Yep, they have to be open on the same day to get cross pollinated. If you see where a blue and a pink planted in the same pot are both scheduled to open in the morning then there is possibility of cross pollination.
