I use a combo of Messenger along with Spray N Grow and Bill's Perfect Fertilizer. I'd say that Miracle Grow is fine too but since Bill's Perfect is said to go along with Messenger I've been trying that. Messenger makes a big difference in my plants.

Having good luck with Gro-Power Plus, a humus based granular fertilizer. Got turned on to it by the local nursery - it's the only thing they use on their permanent plantings. Of course, the time released beads like Osmocote are good too.

Years ago I was introduced to Gro Power and used it until Gro Power Plus became available here. It is a wonderful Humus based fertilizer as well as a soil conditioner with humic acids. It works well in sandy loams and heavely compacted soil. It helps to break up the compacted soil. I've used it in my potted plants, my regular nursery stock and all my acid loving plants.

It takes a little while to see the results. . .just about the time you think it isn't working you see the wonderful results of this fertilizer.

If you want quick results try Miracle Grow either as a foliar spray or soil drench.
