Are daylillies good companions for oriental lillies?

Blackwood, NJ(Zone 7a)

I've never planted oriental lillies before. I just planted the bulbs 2 days ago between and amongst my daylillies. Is this a good place for them? Thanks!

Sounds like a fine place. Mine are all scattered amongst the perennials.

Ditto that.

Thanks for the replies. I had read that they like some bottom shade, so I thought it would be a good place. I know I'm a little late planting them. Probably won't bloom this year.

I'm curious. What perenials do you have your lillies planted amongst?

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Irises, daylilies, salvias, peonies, etc..

Moby, I would love to see picture of this. I am planting everying in clusters, so all of my lilies are together. I just planted some annuals among them, so I'm not just left with ugly stalk when the flowers are gone.

And I just added a daylily to the few that I have. (I'm not a huge fan.) Got it from our Rock Garden Society plant sale yesterday. It's called Creepy Crawly. The description makes it sound like a smaller spider type with jaggedy edged petals. We'll see.

I have a cobler recipe that I call 'creepy crawly cobler'. I can't remember it's real name, but I call it that because the ingredients go into the baking pan in layers with the batter being the second layer. As the cobler bakes, the batter creeps to the top.

beaker, have you shared that recipe? Sounds good to me!

Columbia Heights, MN(Zone 4a)

Yes, I did, but no one picked up on it or so I thought until a few months later when someone else posted it as their recipe, LOL. Needless to say, I don't post too many recipes anymore.

I'll look it up for you and send you a dmial. I have something I need to find for someone else also, so hopefully this weekend.

Speak of the devil! Someone just posted it again here!!!

When I originally posted this, I had a note about reducing the sugar when using canned fruit. I'm partial to the raspberry flavored peaches and I think I reduced the sugar considerably, by at least 50%.

Funny how that happens...recipes do travel.
I will definately give it a try - I've got a gallon of blackberries in the freezer from last summer that need a good crust. Usually I make my grandma's cobbler recipe-more or less same ingredients, different method.
:-)
Thanks...off lilies a bit...sorry

Thanks for the recipe - I was looking for something new to do with rhubarb and mulberries - think I will use these for the fruit part.
