That is so pretty. I didn't even know MG's came in yellow.
Save the seeds, if it makes any. : )

Oh,....I like that one too, HaroldS. : ) I have a few purple MGs, and a blue one that is about 25 yrs old. I have never seen a seed on it, ever. I found a lil light blue one down in our pasture, gonna try and get one up to the house,.....one day.

BlueGlancer - the blue one that you haven't gotten any seeds from sounds like Ipomoea indica

That's it, Ron. : )
Thanks for giving it a name. Now, I don't have to call it 'Hey You' over on the fence anymore. : )

I just noticed my leaves don't look like some of the other pictures.

BlueGlancer - if yours is Blue Dawn, from what I'm told you would have a pasture full of it by now. I'm going to pick up a couple starts of it this week end in California and have been warned to keep it under control. I'm not sure if it will even like our hot dry weather tho. Harold

HaroldS, you are talking about the lite blue one?
My DH said he had to weedkill some of it that was in his orange grove. I told him to leave a few for me to look at. If I bring one home, I'm gonna try to keep it small and pull all the seed pods off. It looked dainty, and was such a pretty pale blue.

I have a question about my old 25 yr old. Can I trim it back, and how far?
It's straggly, and showing it's age but I've been afraid to cut it back very far.
I've only just recently started taking better care of it. I really don't want to lose it.

Maybe I can find a runner that has rooted or something....and start it over.

BlueGlancer - The photos you posted are definitely Ipomoea indica...

Ipomoea indica was previously thought to have originated in Asia, but dna sequencing of the oldest prehistoric samples prove that it originated in the Caribbean and is now considered(by those in the know) to be a bonafide native of Florida...and if it hasn't taken over Florida before there were any people in North America to 'manage the earth'...it isn't going to now...

Update on this post I made. 'I just noticed my leaves don't look like some of the other pictures'.

I went and looked at the MG again, and it does have the same kind of leaves, like the pictures. The older leaves are different than the heart-shaped younger leaves. : )

What I really like about this MG is that it stays open all day, when the rest of mine close by mid day. : )
