Zebra Longwing Butterflies
Thanks, Don! I sent an email out to Maple Street Natives about a week ago but have not heard back from them yet. I can't get up there until next weekend (at the earliest) to actually check what they have offered there. Many of their plants are small, but ya never know! When I am there I will inquire about mail-order for all of you. Otherwise, I will try to send y'all cuttings if I can get a plant at a decent size or get it to grow quickly! :-) In this case .... patience is a virtue............ Of course, I am still waiting for hummers after 2 years. LOL!
Cat-
That H. Toad is just about the coolest thing I've ever seen! LOVE it!
~Adrienne
Yes very cool! I see why Becky loves em so much! And I know from the sparcity of them here where I live now, just how she feels!
Thanks for the info Don! With the way Passifloras grow there, it should have lots of new growth after planting it. Even here, you plant PV and the tenacles just reach out and grab everything. I am most interrested in seeing Becky host ZLWs and I can wait while watching what happens in Sabastian:-D In time I can have them here in my backyard too! I am particularly interrested in the Heliconians preferential tastes for larval food.
:-D
link for P. Affinis. I have purchased from this seller before. She has small, very well rooted, healthy plants

As I looked back on this thread, I realized that my spinach tree is not really a chaya. It is Cnidoscolus aconitifolius. That's why mine looks different from the one Cat mentioned above. Now how about these: Are these zebra longwing eggs? I have never actually spotted eggs before, so this is new to me.
Snuzer,
Those look just like ZLW eggs that are on my P.Suberosa.The way I figure it the female searches for the tenderest new growth she can find and drops a few then moments later she comes back and drops a few more. You should have cats in 4 or 5 days if they were just laid. Don
