Pandurata

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

It has arisen but nothing to write home about. It's still the same tiny size it was when it
disappeared below ground last fall. I'm hoping that's because the energy is going to the tuber. The largest leaf is 1 inch high by 1/2 inch wide, heart shaped. Reappeared about a month ago. Over winter, the spot was covered with fallen lvs.
Emma, how are your pandurata's? Did they disappear below ground last fall?

Hi Jackie,
Yes, they did disappear, and came back up about 6-weeks ago. I haven't taken photos yet because they have been buried in weeds and native plants where I have them planted on the back of my property. They are up about 3' now. In fact, Jerry cleaned that area out today so I can get a better look at them now - just haven't been back there yet.

It looks like the tubers Jerry and I dug up last year all survived. It's a good thing, those were monster tubers. 'Raydio' in NC sent me a couple of small plants at the end of last summer, and so far I have seen no life to those. I was hoping they would make it so I could hopefully get seeds from my vines.

I do have I. pandurate SEEDS that I want to start this year from AR, but haven't yet.

Hopefully I will see blooms from my vines before long.

Emma, I think you will see flowers this season. Either from the vines that are
3 feet tall or the monster tubers or both. It will be a yr or two before I see
blooms or maybe even longer.
We'll all be looking forward to your pics.

I am looking forward to them too, Jackie...
I will let you know when I get my first bloom.

Emma
