CLOSED: What kind of cricket?
I can't tell, maybe one of the Meadow Katydids? I bet he gets good reception, whatever he's listening to!
He was on my Franklin Tree. I picked him up and launched him over the fence to my neighbors yard .. they don't garden so I didn't feel bad. (snicker)

I think it's: Conocephalus apterum / syn. Odontoxiphidium apterum - Wingless Meadow Katydid
