I've noticed for the last several evenings, an insect that looks like a fly (Dark Body with cream specs) is on the tip of my newly planted Radiant Rose Dogwood. The insect is always dead. To make sure, I plucked the critter and moved it legs and wings and nothing. Any idea what this may be and should I be concerned with a larger problem. The tree is leafing out so I think it's healthy for now.
Thanks
Scott
Dogwood Insect
Any chance of a picture? It doesn't really sound like it, but try an image search for Dogwood Twig Borer and Dogwood Borer, or Dogwood insect pests. One is a beetle and the other is a moth that kind of looks like a fly.
