Hey Ron,
Of the 3 seeds that I purchase purported to be Ipomoea Purga, only one germinated. It took a while for it to germinate too and then I was not sure if it would make it. It's growing it's first leaves now and we will be able to see more detail in a few days. I hope it's the real deal but we'll have to wait and see. TTYL.

I purchased Ipomoea Purga
COOL!!
Oh man, that's great.. keep us posted on it's growth.. A.
Yes,well continue to see...although I'd still be placing my bets on Ipomoea turbinata

Ron
Yeah it's looking more like my lavender moon plant.

Ron,
I got the same seeds that Dee did from another country [can't remember where] and the seeds do look like I. turbinata that I received.
I thought I'd grow out a couple just for comparison to what I've been growing.
Emma
ditto....
Emma
Emma, amazing photo. 1st time I've ever seen one germinate on the vine.
Nice flowers Emma and Dee
Isn't it a shame we all purchased I. purga and got something else! I emailed the seller about my dissapointment and never got an answer.
Thanks Jackie,
Actually I've picked many seed pods from my nils last year that were already germinating when raining. *sigh*
Beth,
If you got your seeds from the guy in Australia on eBay, as I did. I wrote him immediately when I received my seeds and saw they were I. turbinata, and he refunded my $$$ right away.
Emma
He never answered my email. I guess I should be more persistant.
Hi Beth,
Actually, I 'told' him and didn't 'ask'.
I assume that he purchaed his seeds from a supplier and that he didn't really know what they were, so I told him if he was going to sell his seeds on eBay that he needed to know what he was selling -
And he refunded my money immediately - so there!
Emma
One of us needs to win the lottery, and send Emma on another mission to Mexico. She could come back with it. I share your dissapointment. I also got took. I think Emma is right. He buys seeds and resellls them. He also takes a month to get them to you. . So does B and T, and Silverhill.

Now that is the very best idea you have come up with yet. . .
Or, send me to Costa Rica *ha*
With the great luck I had finding Convolvulaceae in Acapulco, I'm sure I can smell them out in Costa Rica too.
