Hey, everyone! It's Kassia's birthday! Have a great day, dear friend. :-)
Happy Birthday, Kassia
Kass, I hope you're ready for this...I don't sing for just anyone...
Happy bir-urth-day to yoooou!
Happy biiiiirth-day to yuuu!
Happy b-b-b-(can't get to that note)-day dear, sweet, Kassia!
Happiest of birth-days too-oo yooooou!
(low tones here) And man-eee more!!!
my entire family, on both sides, are notoriously bad singers. hope that didn't hurt your ears, but it is sung from the heart!
because our birthdays are so close together (and we were twins separated at birth somehow...by a continent, a decade, and by having a different mother LOL), I am going to share my birthday bouquet with you. they smell wonderful!
for those who probably don't know, Kassia and I kept finding things we had in common besides our 'extreme' love of roses and all growing things...quilting, cross-stitch..she does lovely needlework.
Happy Birthday! You share it with my niece. I hope your day is a super fantastic one!
pixie, your vinca is great. I love it!
Thanks gram...need some?? LOL it's going like crazy this year, buds everywhere!!!
I debate with myself. I love it, but it's a non-native plant on the invasive plants list. I'm trying to be conservative.
It's a invasive plant in zone 6? Wow...I have had it 7 yrs and it has been contained to the same area, it is just now spreading it's little feelers onto the lawn. I just cut back the feelers, or train it to go the way I want. What a difference a zone makes!!
pix, I don't think I'd have any problem keeping it contained. but it's on the NY invasive species list.
gram,
Purple loosestrife is now dominating cattails here and researchers also are warning against continued use of Norway maple, which may have the potential to one day replace the sugar maple in New England if left unchecked. Other than that our biggest problem is aquatic species which is damaging our lakes. There is a hefty fine attached if you get caught putting a boat in the water with any form of plants on the motor or boat it's self.
the purple loosestrife is just as big a problem here. I think I have some down in the lake. I'll know when it blooms and have my son pull it out. I may be able to plant some cattails, but I'll have to look into it first. there are so many plants that are causing problems that I was not aware of...and some that are just not a good idea. I am looking to natives as much as possible.
Thanks everyone... you guys made my day!!!!! I love the vinca... I was thinking of getting for a shade spot under the pine trees..... wow.... I was totally unware that was invasive...
great pictures..... and Gram thanks for singing... I should call and ask you to do it!!!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY Kassia ~ hope your day is gorgeous and wonderful!!!

Kass - a week to 2 should do it. If nothing comes up after 3 weeks then I usually dig down by them and see if anything is going on.
So glad your birthday was so great. Best wishes for many more. It seems that even Mother Nature is celebrating your bd...nothing but sunshine predicted here. :)
Tomorrow the weather people are talking about near 80 degrees.

You're welcome! We're pretty close in age. I am 44 - born on New Years Day.
Oh no! My wedding anniversary!
What a coincidence! Did you choose that day so Jack had no excuse to forget it???
I choose it for a brand new start.
thanks Harper... gorgeous pic!!!!
You're welcome! I'm glad to hear you had a wonderful birthday.
Victor, isn't the 40's the best???? I love my age... don't want to be any younger...
I heard a joke once that women has 3 ages.... one that she would like to have, one that she looks like she is, and the "real" age they are.... so far the one I have and would like to have are the same age!!!!
I like the 40's, minus all my aches and pains. I'd like my current brain, when it's fully functioning, with my 25 year old body.
Not me! I was pregnant at 25! I like the idea of being perpetually 37.
oh a little pain makes you strong...and conscious of your humble human condition!!!! one has to live fully now!!!! lol!!!!
