Maybe this one, it's the only green weevil I could find in the south, and its name has the citrus connotation...
Blue-green Citrus Root Weevil / Pachnaeus litus

This link doesn't have much info for this particular bug though, maybe check around

Thanks -- looks like it.

But how do I kill it.

I sprayed with Bt -- but he seems to thrive on it.

Be well

I'd ask your local ag extension office, and maybe post on the Garden Pests and Diseases forum... Florida's a whole 'nother world from here.

Thank you

You are obviously right. A local bug guy confirmed it. But he states that you can't really eradicate them except by planting nematodes to get the grubs.

I did some spraying with oil -- and they have disappeared -- so far.

Thanks again

flyboyFL,
we have no images of Pachnaeus litus in BugFiles so far, so would you please add your image to the BugFiles entry for the species here: http://davesgarden.com/bf/go/886/

bt won't do a thing for any but caterpillars. i used to hand pick and squash those weevils (in the keys). i think neem would probably take care of them.

I did use Neem -- but they seemed to like it as salad dressing. Anyhow they're gone now.

I just hope they didn't damage the roots.

There is also some edge chomping visible on my other citrus: The Key Line, The Navel Orange. and, the Grapefruit.

They ignored my kumquats

Wait'll next April

Be well

:)
