They're back, they're back!

The lilies, mostly LA hybrids that I purchased in 2006 did quite well, but I was nervous about them coming back in 2007. Well, they're baaaack. I'm quite excited about this since that means I can go crazy buying bulbs for the 2007/2008 season. Buggycrazy, here I come!

So far I have Bizet and Jet Stream blooming. Menorca and Stefanja have buds and some others, which I need to look up in my journal.

Neal, Beaker_CH, didn't we also get Spacer? I can't find any data on this one, so I can't tell if it has come back for me.

Those are beautiful lilies, vossner! I am still patiently waiting on my orientals to bud and bloom... :) I planted them kind of late.

Nery, did you plant any other kinds besides LAs? The LAs don't need a cold cycle to bloom, so you shouldn't have any problem with those.

Yes, Spacer was one of the varieties we shared. I'm not on my laptop so I can't look it up. Hum...I finally loaded all my lilies out in the journal, so you could look it up there. It will be either in the Asiatic or LA catagory.

OK, I looked up Spacer in my journal and it's an asiatic. There were 5 bulbs and they should have bloomed before the LAs. What else do you have coming up?

B, I'll look Spacer up in your journal. I should have some casablancas, Miss Lucy (dbl), Capuccino, another pink double, and Triumphator. Oh, and a mixed bag from Easy to Grow Bulbs.

I think I might have planted 1-2 asiatics that were supposed to be OK for southern climes. I need to review my journal.

OK. saw Spacer, I do think I recognize that one in my garden. I had never looked at anybody's journal before. wow, that's quite a collection. It also reminded me of things that were planted in 2006 and I dont remember seeing, i.e. Tom Pouce, Fata Morgana and I think Sumatra is one I bought last fall. Where in the world did I put that one?

My "journal" is just a beat up book I keep near me at all times. I have not crossed over to high-tech yet.

It will be interesting to see what you will get without an extended period of cold. Anything with longiflorum should work for you planted directly in the garden. I would think with the others, you'd have to place them in cold storage for awhile. I wonder if those orientals that Shortstuff has were planted this year.

Keep good records!

They were, beaker. I planted them in March. I am realizing now it was kind of late for this area. I will know better for next year. I have some other stargazer bulbs I bought from Wal-Mart... I may as well forget about those probably. Wanted to plant them in the back yard with the crepe murtles but never got around to it.

No, go ahead and plant them. I planted some very late in the spring last year and they did nothing, but this year they are peeking out. If they don't come up, as least you tried.

Thanks, vossner! I think I will feed the dogs and then go and plant them since the soil is nice and soft right now. Even if they were to skip this year and come up next year, I would be delighted!

for the first time in about 5 weeks, my b/fast table is bulb-free, lol. I have been planting like crazy since the gumbo is at least manageable.

Good for you, vossner! ;) We'll see what comes up for us. It was a nice day today compared to the weather we've been having. Hopefully it will be a nice start for our bulbs!
